A Christmas trip to the South of Italy. First stop Salerno which preserves monuments of incredible charm and importance. We enter the historic center with the Duomo, one of the most important medieval monuments in the region, up to the magnificent promenade along the sea. In all the streets of Salerno at Christmas the "Luci d'Artista" project takes shape with light installations to embellish the city. In Amalfi (birthplace of the inventor of the compass Flavio Gioia) you can enjoy beautiful walks along the characteristic alleys and visit the Cathedral, from the Arab-Norman era characterised by a striped Byzantine facade. Positano is a nativity scene, a cluster of houses that descends from the Lattari Mountains towards the sea. Narrow streets and stairways are defense systems adopted to face attacks from enemy cities. The last places visited were Ravello and Vietri sul Mare. Ravello located over 300m above the Tyrrhenian Sea is known for its extraordinary gardens on the cliffs, perhaps one of the most romantic places on the coast. Vietri is represented neither by a monument nor by a palace but it is famous for the magnificent ceramics which in this manufacturing sector represent a spearhead of Campania in the world.
