Quando si pensa a Creta, viene subito in mente il Minotauro che aveva un corpo umano ma zoccoli e testa di toro, il suo istinto era quindi irrazionale, crudele e violento. Minosse, re di Creta, decise di rinchiuderlo nel labirinto di Cnosso, dal quale sua figlia Arianna, con il famoso filo, tentò di liberare Teseo, il giovane ateniese introdotto nel labirinto per essere dato in pasto al Minotauro. Oggi il palazzo di Cnosso è stato restaurato e si possono ammirare solo alcuni dei dipinti dell'epoca.

Today the palace of Knossos has been restored and only some of the paintings from that time can be admired.
