Namibia is one of the wildest places in Southern Africa, where fauna is omnipresent. Namibia is absolutely gorgeous. In a single trip you can admire very high dunes, canyons, savannahs, desert sands that end in the ocean and parks, where elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, antelopes, gazelles, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, oryxes and ostriches coexist. Sossusvlei, in the Namib desert (the oldest in the world) with its immense red sand dunes, is undoubtedly one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. In the Etosha park the wildlife thrives, numerous and easily observable, especially in the various water holes located in the park. The main ethnic groups of Namibia are the Ovambo, the most important and numerous group in the country, the Herero, the Damara, the Bushmen, the Himba, the Kavango, the Caprivians, from the union of couples of different races the 'colored' meaning people of mixed blood. A large population of people of European origin also lives in Namibia, most of them are the 'Afrikaaners' who gradually settled in Namibia from South Africa. There is also a large community of Germans who descend from the colonizers of the 19th century, a fair number of Portuguese and Italians. The great diversity of the ethnic groups that inhabit this land complements the interest with the great offer of cultural wealth. I took this trip together with an Italian girl who was my guide. We became friends and I have a wonderful memory of Namibia also thanks to Sonia!
