Mongolia is a green country, but not a normal green, it is an emerald green that shines in the sun. The air is often clear and crisp, the cobalt blue waters of the lakes and rivers reflect the color of the sky. Herds of horses enliven the emerald green of the grass and children learn first to ride then to walk. And then there is the space, the true actor of this land, you are breathless in front of the immense spaces and you appreciate its silence! The light is splendid thanks to the vastness of the horizons: it seems to touch the clouds during the day and the stars at night ... Casual encounters with the nomads of the steppe are not uncommon. People with few frills, shaped by the harsh climates of a wild land that lives a daily life that seems difficult to us in the permanent residence, which does not make use of time, but of space. They are the most hospitable people in the world, they invite you to their gher (the white tent-house of the nomads, twenty square meters that contains a universe) to drink the milk and cheese of their flocks. Along the green valleys some plants are decorated with "Kata", white and blue silk votive scarves left by pilgrims who want to propitiate the benevolence of local spirits. And then there is the great Gobi, the "big sand" of Marco Polo, a harsh and scaly desert, characterized by truly extreme climatic variations. The Khongor sand dunes are the most spectacular in all of Mongolia. The wind has accumulated the sands at the foot of a mountain range creating barkanas and sif at the base of which Bactrian horses and camels graze. It is a land that gives you a great feeling of immense freedom .....
